I am continuing to create more thumbnails, and develop more and different concepts.

Today, I began working on thumbnails for my San Antonio mission trail poster.

I then printed out larger, better quality images of the photographs that I was more seriously considering using as a source.

After going through all of the photographs and imagery that I have gathered, I selected possible relevant photographs for my poster.

Today I focused on the style of poster I am considering executing.  I studied some works online that I found helpful.  I gathered a lot more examples similar to the style I am pursuing.  (See my sketchbook for examples.)

I am now working on researching for imagery and photographs for my topic.  I found many photographs of the different missions that will help in creating my design for my poster(s).

Today I read the information that I gathered yesterday on my subject.  I made notes on the relevant facts and topics and highlighted what might be useful in headlines and designing.

Since I have now chosen my topic, I decided to do some more specific research.  I completed additional research online for the mission trail of San Antonio.  I found multiple websites that helped me learn more.

I have narrowed down my choices for the poster.  I have decided on choice #3- a freestyle poster.  My topic will be one specific to San Antonio, a poster on the San Antonio missions trail.  There are 4 missions that I can create a poster on.  My purpose will either be to advertise the mission trail or to promote tourism.

Today, I progressed on my project by reading through my printed research.  I have narrowed my topic down to several different options.  I ended up eliminating some of my sources because they did not provide relevant information or further my progress; however, I did find some valuable information in other materials/sources.

I researched both on the Internet and in the library on various events and locations and organizations in San Antonio.  I want to choose a subject that I am interested in and I am from San Antonio.  I then printed out some of the resources that I found.

Unfortunately, I have been out of town and am just now getting to fill in for the days that I was away from the Internet.  I kept a written log of my progress on the days that I am imputing now.  My first step in completing the project was reviewing my several pages of in-class notes that relate to the projects.  I also found two beneficial websites that relate to posters and creative briefs.  The links are below:

At the moment, I have not yet decided which of the four options I am pursuing for my poster.  The second and third options stand out because of the potential subject matter.  I also enjoy doing research.  The style of the examples provided for these two options would add some variety to my portfolio as well.  One phrase that stood out to me today was that if an idea does not inform you of your next idea/execution, then it is probably not that great of an idea.
